Woolworths urgently recalls its 100% apple juice. Here's what you should do
If you or someone you know has recently purchased the 200ml cartons of Woolworths' Apple Juice, you may want to return them to the nearest [Woolworths] store for a refund.
This as the retail giant has announced it's recalling single boxes and six-packs with the best before the dates of 23, 28 and 29 March 2022.
Through its Twitter account, the retailer said it was identified that these products contain levels of patulin above the regulatory limits. According to the Twitter thread, Patulin is a naturally occurring mycotoxin commonly associated with apples.
Those who have purchased the affected products should visit their nearest Woolies stores for a full refund.
This recall comes days after LiquiFruit announced its recall of its version of the same [Apple Juice] products for the same reason.
Earlier this year, Tiger Brands recalled some KOO, Hugo’s, Helderberg defective cans due to a side weld seam issue that may cause the cans to leak.
Taking to social media the brand said products manufactured from 1 May 2019 to 5 May 2021 are affected. These should be returned to stores for a full refund.
